How iAM Can Help
Care for What Your Body Is Experiencing
Pain and movement changes can show up in different ways during midlife. Our physical therapy approach focuses on understanding the root cause, not just the symptom, so you can move forward with clarity.
-
Neck pain and headaches are often related to muscle tension, posture, and movement patterns developed over time.
Physical therapy focuses on improving mobility, strengthening supporting muscles, and reducing stress on the neck and upper spine.
Common causes include:
• desk and computer work
• muscle tension and stress
• postural strain
• previous injuries -
Shoulder pain can make everyday activities like reaching, lifting, or sleeping uncomfortable.
Physical therapy helps restore shoulder mobility, strengthen surrounding muscles, and improve joint stability.
Common shoulder conditions include:
• rotator cuff tendinopathy
• shoulder impingement
• frozen shoulder
• strength imbalances from training or repetitive activity -
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek physical therapy.

• lifting mechanics
• muscle imbalances
• decreased strength and mobility -
Hip pain can develop gradually due to changes in strength, mobility, and activity demands.
Physical therapy helps improve hip strength and movement patterns to reduce stress on surrounding joints.
Common hip conditions include:
• gluteal tendinopathy
• hip impingement
• muscle weakness
• overuse from activity or training -
Knee pain often develops when surrounding muscles are not supporting the joint effectively.
Physical therapy focuses on strengthening the hips and legs while improving movement mechanics.
Common knee issues include:

• tendon irritation
• overuse injuries
• strength imbalances -

Meet Dr Jess Wiley
Doctor of Physical Therapy | Women’s Midlife Health Lifestyle Medicine
Virtual care available for midlife women across California, including San Diego, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area.
Welcome to iAM Her + Well,
For more than 18 years, I’ve worked with women recovering from injury, rebuilding strength, and returning to active lives.
I’m also a wife, a mom, and a woman navigating the physical changes that come with pregnancy, postpartum, and midlife—while balancing work, family, and the responsibilities many women carry every day.
What I’ve learned is that women don’t want to simply manage pain.
They want to understand their body, feel confident in movement, and protect their long-term health so they can stay active and independent for years to come.
My approach combines orthopedic physical therapy with strength training and lifestyle medicine to help women understand their bodies and move confidently through midlife… and beyond.
You are going to love it here!
I see you. I hear you. I can help.
